Take care of him for me Mama 'till I get there.....

I had my State Board exam last month and whenever it is exam time mama's prayer line would always be busy because she would be talking to God about my exam. But what was I to do? Mama won't be on the end of the phone when I call. When I realized I did not have her to call, I said to myself, "Mama ain't here no more but I am gonna do what mama used to do for me. I am gonna get on that prayer line and try to talk with God the way mama always did for me when she was alive.  Mama you see that even though you are not with me in the flesh you will always be with me in spirit.  I passed my State Boards and I KNOW that mama was there with me through it all.  MAMA I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU DEARLY.

The Christmas was the worse reality for me, it finally hit me you weren't here anymore.  It was the worse feeling for me because my best memories of christmas was being in Jamaica as a child.  Waking up to that huge breakfast and looking forward dinner and not to forget having the biggest tree on the hill.  I MISS YOU VERY MUCH.

My fondest memories of Mama, is when I used to go to Jamaica to visit her.  And the way she looked at me, when she first saw me come out of the car (with such love).  And when I would go to church with her...and she would preach. Not to mention my favorite foods that she would prepare.  What I will miss the most, is being able to pick up the phone and hear my dear mother's voice.   She was more than a mother to me, she was my friend.
